Open any web browser on your computer, such as Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox. Once the browser is open, click on the search or address bar located at the top of the window. In this bar, type the following website address: desktop.arts.ac.uk, and press Enter on your keyboard. This will take you to the University of the Arts London remote desktop portal, where you can access university systems and software.

Once you have successfully logged in, you will be taken to a page displaying the different rooms that contain PCs you can access remotely. These rooms correspond to various computer labs within the university. Each course has access to a specific set of rooms, so the list you see will depend on your course and permissions. Because of this, not all available rooms will be visible to every user. Only the rooms assigned to your course or department will appear on your screen.

Once you click on a specific room, you will be connected remotely to one of the PCs located in that space. This allows you to use the computer as if you were physically sitting in the room.
On the left side of the screen, you will see a small button that opens a menu. When expanded, this menu will display the other rooms that you also have access to, allowing you to quickly switch between them if needed. At the top of this same menu, you will also find options that allow you to transfer or copy files from your own computer onto the remote desktop, making it easy to move your work between your local machine and the university PC.

Please note that when you connect to a room, the system will assign you a random PC from that room each time you log in. Because of this, you may not be connected to the same computer during future sessions.
For this reason, it is highly recommended that you do not save files directly to the local desktop or local drives of the remote PC. Instead, save your work to the Elements drive or to your OneDrive. Storing your files in these locations ensures that you can access them from any university PC, regardless of which machine you are connected to during your remote session.
